Terre Haute North (17-6) once again relied on its defense to claim a 50-33 victory over Plainfield in the Class 4A Plainfield Sectional. The Patriots held Plainfield (7-15) to just 31.3% shooting on the evening while North shot close to 50%. The Patriots’ who held a slim 10-6 lead after the first quarter, started the second quarter on an 8-0 run which was started by a steal and a basket from senior Chris O’Leary. Justin Gant and Thomas Anderson led Terre Haute North as Gant finished with 18 points and eight rebounds. North used a late 10-0 run to seal the victory for the Patriots. Terre Haute North will resume play on Friday when they play Martinsville (4-16) in the semifinals.
